My story

Blue is adorable! He has had a hard time the past few months. He was adopted as a pup from us, but instead of returning him to us, his owner surrendered him to a shelter. A shelter is a scary place, most dogs do not do well there at all. Blue was no exception to that rule. He was terrified, sat in the corner and shook, would not eat at all. The shelter contacted us and we immediately got him out and into foster care. Things we have learned since he went into foster care. It seems his original owner never potty trained him, but had him going on puppy pads in the house. We have been working on this and he is doing better, but slips sometimes. Blue loves some people, does not like others for no apparent reason to us, he might know something we don't though. He likes grandpa and often sits on the arm of the chair with him. Blue has found his safe space in the bedroom with a roommate where he went when the foster 1st brought him home. After his trauma at the shelter, he is now "resource guarding" this room. It is understandable after his trauma, but we are working on helping him overcome this. Blue can be a little shit sometimes. He doesn't mind at all reaching out and nipping if he is scared. Grabbing his collar or trying to pick him up can be triggers. He has not bitten anyone, but I can't say he wouldn't. Blue is leash trained, crate trained. He does well with other dogs, but is not interested in playing. He does well with cats, just ignores them. He likes the kids. He is only 19 pounds. He has a big doggie head, but a small body. They fit well together and he is a beauty! Blue needs an experienced owner. He needs someone to save him and give him his forever home. Someone that will be patient but firm with him to help him overcome his trauma. He is up to date on vaccinations and is neutered.
