An opal is a stunning and mysterious gem—just like Opal the cat! The origins and properties of the opal are puzzles that are sometimes disputed in the jewelry industry. Similarly, Opal the cat has already given EHS some mysteries to unravel. At first, she was believed to be pregnant, but as the months went on, our volunteers realized it was a false alarm (and maybe a love of snacks). She also had a curious cut on her nose, but that puzzle was solved when it was discovered that she was rubbing her face against the door, trying to get some affection. Oh Opal, how many more glittering enigmas do you hold for us? ABOUT OPAL- In foster - Opal, the birthstone for October, is believed to promote kindness and love, and this beautiful girl has already shown these traits through her sweet and friendly nature. - Lap cat alert! Opal loves pets (especially butt and tummy rubs), being picked up, holding hands, and will head-butt for more attention. - She is a cute girl and reportedly “purrs like an engine” when being shown affection. - Her foster mom has said that Opal will smile when she’s feeling lovey.- Opal loves to play and enjoys using a variety of toys to help burn her energy. She will chase, jump for, and carry the toys, and will entice the three resident male cats to play with her. - Opal is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations. OPAL’S IDEAL HOME- Opal lives with three resident cats in her foster home, and loves their company. She would thrive in a home with other cats. - Due to her gentle nature, she should also do well with children. - Opal’s foster mom reports that she met a dog at the vet and was friendly and curious. Will you be the one to add this precious gem to your family? Set up a meeting today! We’re sure that Opal will add a mysterious sparkle to your home.
