GYPSY is currently being fostered in TEXAS. Gypsy girl. Gypsy is apx 2-4 years old and 9.8 pounds. She came from a terrible hoarding situation where she was bred half to death. Lord knows how many babies she has had over the years, how many she’s had to protect from the heat, winter freezes, 46 plus dogs and predators. She has not lived a good life thus far but once she crossed our gates, all that has changed. Gypsy came to us very pregnant. She gave birth 2 weeks after arriving to three babies, one passed the first night and the other two were not thriving, so we chose to place them with a bottle baby foster. The reason the two tiny babies were not thriving was because they were not getting enough milk. Gypsy’s nipples are so big from over breeding and feeding that her teenie tiny babies could not even latch on to feed. The entire situation has just been heart breaking. Gypsy is ready for the past to be in the past and is waiting for a new and beautiful life she has ahead of her. Gypsy is a very good and sweet girl. Friendly, social, silly, loving and adores being with her people. Good with other animals. We do have to disclose that Gypsy bit the ACO officer that caught her on the property during confiscation of the animals. She also bit a volunteer here on the ankle when she was refilling her water outside in her pen area, this was only 48 hours after she gave birth so I think she was protecting her babies. Many of us have held Gypsy, bathed her, did her nails and gave vaccines. She has interacted with at least 15 different people and has always been fine with everyone. She is not an aggressive dog, but I also do not think these two incidents were fear biting either. I think she has a little bit of protection dog in her. Because of this, we are asking absolutely no children. I honestly do not think Gypsy would hurt a child but we can never be too careful when it comes to little ones. I mean unless you have a teenage daughter 😉 So needless to say, although we all think Gypsy is a doll baby, even the vets office loved her, she does have some sister sass in there to be aware of.
