Kirito

My story

Kirito is a 3-year-old neutered male who came into my care in 2023. When it was just the two of us, he showed a sweet but cautious personality: playful and affectionate, though reserved with new people. He needed time to build trust, and watching him gradually relax over that first year was incredibly rewarding. In late 2024, my partner (who also has cats) and I began merging our households. Despite our best efforts over the past year, it has become clear that Kirito struggles in a multi-cat environment. The activity level keeps him in a constant state of alertness, and he has few opportunities to truly decompress. We believe he would absolutely flourish as an only cat, where he could have the calm, predictable environment he needs to be his best self. Kirito currently takes gabapentin to help manage his anxiety, though we suspect that in the right home, one where he is the sole cat, he may not need it at all. He has never bitten anyone.
