Jaxxson's story is one of strength, sweetness, and second chances. Rescued from MCACC as a tiny puppy battling Parvo, this brave boy fought through the odds and came out stronger than ever. His foster family fell in love with him and couldn't let him go. Though the illness left him smaller than an average pit bull, it has never slowed down his heart or his spirit. Jaxxson has grown into a gentle, loving companion who wins everyone over with his calm nature and warm presence. Unlike his energetic companion Loki, Jaxxson is more laid-back. He doesn't usually initiate playtime, but when Loki insists, he's happy to join in for some friendly roughhousing. His favorite activities are soaking up the sunshine and jumping into the pool on repeat. He loves to sprawl out on his back and bask in the Arizona sun, but his sunbathing time should now be limited due to a pre-cancerous mass removed in 2023.  Jaxxson is incredibly sweet, well-mannered, and has never shown signs of aggression. He gets along well with other dogs of all sizes. His behavior around small children and elderly individuals is unknown, but his gentle nature suggests he may do just fine. He handles loud noises very well and loves to sleep near his humans, usually right at their feet or even tucked under the covers if allowed. Nail trims are best left to the vet's office, but otherwise he is easygoing and cooperative. Jaxxson is treat motivated, and he knows exactly where the treats are kept and will wait by them until you give in. He absolutely loves squeaky toys--he's never met one he couldn't completely destroy. He takes great pride in that accomplishment. He barks at the doorbell, but he is not aggressive. Want to know one of his most adorable quirks?? If you start to howl, he'll happily join in with his own little serenade, a heart-melting reminder of his playful, soulful personality. He's loyal, affectionate, and happiest when he's near his people or basking in the sun. And that face! How can you say no to those eyes? Jaxxson is ready for his forever home that will cherish him for being the wonderful dog he is.
