Make a stop for Scooter!!!The road to happiness has been bumpy for Scooter. After being rescued from living a hard-scrabble life on the streets, she was adopted from EHS in 2019. It turns out that home wasn’t meant to be her final destination, and she is now taking a detour to living her best retirement life.ABOUT SCOOTER- At shelter- Scooter has emerged from her parking spot at the base of the cat tree and enjoys idling at the front of her kennel and cruising around the shelter to check out the sights during out time. She’s even started to make some little stops to check out what’s happening with her feline neighbours.- As her comfort level and trust increase, Scooter has shifted gears to accept pets with a back-scratcher when distracted with a treat. However, she’s still in the early stages of getting used to human touch (again, if there’s a treat) with people she knows. Otherwise, she’ll still switch into reverse gear. - Scooter is extremely food-motivated and will come out and approach you for a creamy treat—even licking it off of your finger. - Scooter keeps her engine revved through play! She loves feather toys, rope wands and rolling around with catnip toys! - Like many shy cats, Scooter can be sensitive to loud noises or is overwhelmed with a lot of activity around. When this happens, she’ll go back to her favourite parking spot where she feels safe. - Scooter is currently enrolled in EHS’s socialization program, where dedicated volunteers are working to help her become more comfortable around people.- Some skittish cats may remain reserved, while others may express their trust and affection in a variety of ways.- Scooter is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.SCOOTER’S IDEAL HOME- A skittish cat will benefit from a calm, quiet environment, preferably without small children.- Scooter would be happy to be the only cat in the house or to share a home with a compatible feline friend. - Potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help Scooter settle into her new environment. EHS will provide post-adoption support to assist Scooter with a successful transition to her forever home.Scooter is looking for a new permanent parking spot!
