Meet Hunter! Hunter is approximately 1.5 year old, 47 lbs currently and he may have some Shepherd in his mix. He was found as a stray running loose at a wildlife refuge in the south. In his southern foster home, he is doing great with his important life skills like house training, crate training and leash walking. He could go to a home with other dogs, dog-savvy cats and kids 10+.His foster says, `Hunter is sweet, playful, affectionate, loving, and full of energy! He wakes up every day ready to enjoy life and spread joy. His favorite thing is playing chase with his doggy friends or going for a walk and sniffing all the smells. This guy is always on the move during the day, but at night he’s happy to snuggle up and be cozy.He would do great with a person or people who love to be active! A fenced-in yard would make him the happiest — he loves to hang out and sunbathe — but as long as he can run his energy out daily, he’s good. He’s working on his leash manners, and he’s learning not to pull when he gets super excited. He’s fully house trained, except for the expected first-day accident as he acclimates. He does need to have lots of toys around and a well dog-proofed space, as he’s still learning what is and is not for chewing. He loves having a box full of chew toys, tug ropes, and stuffies, and he goes to play with them when he needs to work out some energy. If you’re looking for an adventure-loving younger dog who’s also the perfect couch companion, Hunter is your guy. He’ll reward you with endless love and affection. Being his human is the best — his future adopter will be very lucky! `He is available for adoption in Hopkinton or Arlington by appointment.
