Akela

My story

Akela is a 5-year-old purebred Miniature American Eskimo Dog. He’s an incredibly sweet and loyal boy under the right conditions and has been with me since he was just 2 months old. Akela thrives in a calm, structured environment where he can be the center of attention. Our household is a bit too chaotic for him (kids, other dogs, and cats), and it’s clear he would do best in a quieter home. He loves walks, hikes, and cuddles — he’s the perfect adventure buddy and a wonderful companion once he feels secure. Akela can be wary of strangers at first and needs someone patient, confident, and kind but firm. He gets along with some dogs and cats, though he can be a bit jealous at times. He’s not a good fit for homes with young, high-energy children. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion to share your adventures (and your couch), Akela could be your perfect match.
