Hi guys, it’s me — Ava the LB Ball Queen! I rolled into the Freedom Squad all the way from Long Beach with my girls Opal and Val, and let me tell you… this glow-up story is one for the history books. When I first landed here, I looked like I’d been through a few seasons of Survivor: Backyard Edition — but not anymore! Thanks to the amazing shelter staff and my new rescue fam, I’m on the fast track to feeling fabulous. Clear the air: Let’s clear one thing up right now — the shelter said I’m seven years old. Excuse me? There’s no way! My vet says I’m closer to four, and I’m gonna roll with that because I’ve got way too much spunk (yes, spunk — not “energy,” we’re changing things up!) to be seven. I bounce, I zoom, I wiggle, and I make everything feel like recess. Health: I’ve had a few rough years — it’s clear I was bred over and over again and left in some pretty awful conditions. But that’s behind me now. My tail and back are still healing from some skin issues, and my ears needed a little steroid cream TLC, but nothing’s keeping this girl down. I get my medicated baths, smell like a spa day, and strut my stuff like a comeback queen. Oh man do I love me a bubble bath, it helps after a long day of chasing the balls around. I mean really there are so many to choose from! I’m a vibe: Don’t let my cute bows fool you though — I’ve got major tomboy vibes. I love hanging out with my besties Chapoopie and Soto, chasing balls, and catching anything you pretend to throw (seriously, I’m convinced every hand movement is snack-related). If you raise your hand, I’m already sitting like the goodest girl, ready for whatever surprise I think is coming. I have no idea why I am so convinced there is always something in a humans hand for me. Tug of war is another one of my fave things to do! Potty training? Nailed it — I haven’t had an accident in my crate in weeks! I’ll even let you know when it’s time to go out. I’ll grab my ball, do my business, and scan the yard to make sure I’m not missing any action — serious case of FOMO. I walk great on a leash, but I get a little too pumped about the world sometimes (don’t we all?). Here’s the thing: I’m independent… until you leave me outside without you. Then I’ll sing the song of my people at the gate until you come back because life’s just more fun together. I don’t fight, but I’ll give a little warning if someone tries to steal my ball — it’s mine, okay? Plus there are so many to choose from….I’ve learned to share when it comes to playtime, but food? That’s still personal. Can you blame me? After everything I’ve been through, I’m just making sure my bowl stays full. I’m strong, silly, sassy, and totally irresistible. I may have started my journey rough around the edges, but I’m shining brighter than ever. If you’re ready for a little chaos, a lot of laughter, and endless love — I’m your girl. Mo says I remind her of Gwen Stefani all the time, like I know who that is (eye roll)…. I’m just a girl, ol little oh me, well don’t let out of your sight! Love, Ava — the comeback queen with the pogo-stick legs and the cutest bow in the effen game. Apply for me at freedomfrenchierescue.org my adoption donation fee is $1025.00 and I’m spay, vaccinated and microchipped, located in Prescott, AZ. Well wtf are you waiting for??????
