My story

Meet Cody – Your New Best Friend! Hi there! My name is Cody, and I’ve got a very important message for you: I’m ready to find my forever home, and I think it might just be with YOU! Let me tell you a little about myself. I was picked up as a stray in Yuma, wandering around without a family to call my own. But don’t worry—life has gotten much brighter since then! I’m now staying at Central Arizona Animal Rescue, where I’ve been given love, care, and a second chance. And now, I’m dreaming of the day I get to trot out the door with my new family, tail wagging and toy in mouth. My Favorite Game in the Whole World If you’re looking for a dog who loves to play, I’m your guy. Fetch is my absolute favorite thing ever! I’ll bring my toy to anyone—kids, adults, visitors, strangers—if you’ll throw it for me. I never get tired of chasing after it, and I promise to make you laugh with my goofy enthusiasm. Playing fetch isn’t just a game for me; it’s how I show you how much I love being with you. So if you’ve got a backyard, a park nearby, or even just a hallway, I’ll be the happiest pup alive as long as you’re willing to toss my toy. Great With Kids I may not know much about my past, but I do know this: I’m really good with little children. I love their energy, their giggles, and their willingness to throw my toy again and again. I’m gentle and patient, and I’ll happily join in their fun. If you’ve got kids, I’ll be their furry playmate and loyal protector. Dog-Friendly Companion I share my kennel with other dogs here at the rescue, and guess what? I’m awesome with them! I love having canine buddies to hang out with, and I’d be thrilled to join a family that already has dogs. We can play together, nap together, and keep each other company. Cats? Well, I’m not sure about them yet. Nobody’s introduced me to one, so we’ll have to see how that goes. But with dogs, I’m a total champ. My Size and Style I’m not a very big guy—just about 35 to 40 pounds. That makes me the perfect size for cuddles on the couch, car rides, or adventures around town. I’ve got a thick, fluffy coat that makes me look extra huggable. But here’s the deal: I’ll need regular grooming to keep me looking sharp and feeling comfortable. Think of it as spa days for me, and bonding time for us! Healthy and Ready When I was found, I was neutered right away, and now I’m all up to date on my vaccinations. Plus, I’ve got a microchip, so I’ll never get lost again. I’m safe, healthy, and ready to start my new life with you. What I’m Looking For I don’t need much—just a family who will love me, play fetch with me, and let me be part of their everyday lives. I want to be with my people as much as possible, whether that’s snuggling on the couch, going for walks, or chasing toys in the yard. I might need a little patience when it comes to house training (since nobody knows for sure if I’ve mastered that yet), but I promise to try my best. With love and consistency, I’ll figure it out quickly. Come Meet Me! So, what do you say? Are you ready to meet your new best friend? I’m waiting here at Central Arizona Animal Rescue, wagging my tail and dreaming about the day I get to go home with you. If you’d like to meet me, just send an email to mike@caaronlne.org to set up an appointment. I’ll be here with my toy, ready to show you how much fun life can be with Cody by your side.   PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question, please ask in the e-mail.   All dogs are adopted on a first come - first served basis.
