My story

Meet Hyde! Hyde is a young, 40lb shepherd mix with a big heart and classic puppy joy. He is incredibly sweet, eager to please, and happiest when he is close to his person. At night, he will hop into bed and sleep snuggled up near you. He is a cuddle bug.He is potty trained and has the cutest way of telling you he needs to go out: he sits by the back door and leans against it like a little gentleman. He is also a smart boy and is already learning basic manners like sit, off and stay.He has lots of playful energy and does best with a family or adopter who enjoys daily walks, playtime, and helping a young dog keep building good habits. Hyde loves toys and can happily entertain himself for long stretches.  He is the kind of dog who will make you laugh every day!Because Hyde is still young and excitable, he can be a jumper when greeting people and may pull on the leash when he gets happy. He responds well to redirection and does great with a front-clip harness. Hyde will thrive with an adopter who can provide structure and consistency as he continues to build great manners.Hyde is also comfortable being in a crate and does well in a crate for 1 to 3 hours when home alone. He is generally a quiet dog, with the exception of an adorable little sound he makes when he yawns.To get started in the process of meeting this adorable boy, visit https://azfriends.org/testing/adopt.html to complete an adoption consultation form, and then come by the Adoption Center to meet with one of our adoption counselors. No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the animal. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)!Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).
