My story

Tabbouleh is a two-year-old, 25-pound Chihuahua mix who is on the big side for a Chihuahua. There may even be a little Dachshund hiding in there! What he lacks in tiny-dog stature, he more than makes up for in personality. Tabbouleh is highly energetic, playful, and incredibly affectionate, with a joyful spirit that’s impossible to resist. When our staff first met him at Pinal County Animal Shelter, Tabbouleh ran straight up to them and immediately rolled over for belly rubs, making it very clear that people are his favorite thing. He thrives on human connection and wants to always be close. Even in the middle of enthusiastic zoomies, he’ll pause to check in, lean in for a quick pet, or hop into a nearby lap for cuddles and kisses. He’s a true snuggle bug who loves lap time just as much as playtime. Tabbouleh is still working on his leash skills and can be a bit uncomfortable while walking on leash, so continued training and patience will help him gain confidence. He participated in play groups with other dogs at Pinal County, but he was not comfortable sharing a kennel, so he may prefer his own space at home. An active owner who enjoys play, engagement, and companionship would be a great match for this lively little guy. Tabbouleh’s adoption fee of $250 includes neutering, vaccinations, microchipping, and a complimentary wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital.
