My story

My name is Brian, and if you’re reading this, I think we might already be off to a pretty great start. I’m a twenty&#226&#128&#145pound gentleman of distinguished but mysterious heritage—some dachshund, a dash of chihuahua, and maybe a sprinkle of “who knows, but it works.” I like to think of myself as a limited&#226&#128&#145edition model: compact, charming, and ready for adventure, but also perfectly content to curl up beside someone who appreciates the quieter things in life. My story started out a little bumpy. I was picked up as a stray in Yuma, wandering around with big dreams and short legs. The folks at the Yuma Humane Society took me in and gave me a safe place to land. I waited patiently for my people to come find me, but they never did. I’m not one to dwell on the past, though—hope is kind of my thing. So when the chance came to hitch a ride to Phoenix, I wagged my tail, hopped in, and never looked back. Now I’m staying with the wonderful humans at Central Arizona Animal Rescue, and they’ve promised to help me find my forever family. I’m taking this mission very seriously. Every day, I practice my best “adopt me” smile, perfect my snuggle technique, and make sure everyone knows just how sweet and easygoing I am. Let me tell you a little about myself, from one friend to another. I’m great with the other dogs in my kennel—friendly, polite, and always up for a little company. I love hanging out with people, too. I’m not clingy, but I do enjoy being near my humans, especially if they’re the kind who appreciate a calm companion. I don’t bark much, which makes me an excellent neighbor for apartment living or a small home. I’m short&#226&#128&#145coated, so grooming is a breeze. A quick brush, a pat on the head, and I’m good to go. I’m also neutered, current on all my vaccinations, and microchipped so I’ll never get lost again. That part is important to me. I’ve done the wandering thing, and while it made me brave, I’m ready for something better—something steady, warm, and full of love. If you’re someone who enjoys peaceful walks, gentle company, and a dog who won’t bounce off the walls, I think we’d be a perfect match. I’m especially well&#226&#128&#145suited for an older person or anyone who wants a loyal friend without the high&#226&#128&#145energy chaos some dogs bring to the table. I’m the kind of guy who will trot happily beside you, nap at your feet, and remind you every day that you’re not alone. As for cats… well, your guess is as good as mine. I don’t have any background information on that part of my life. But I’m a sweet soul, and with the right introductions, who knows what could happen. What I do know is this: I’m ready. Ready for a family. Ready for a soft bed. Ready for someone who sees me not as a stray or a mystery mix, but as a companion with a big heart and an even bigger desire to belong. If you’d like to meet me—and I really hope you do—just send an email to mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment. I’ll be waiting with my tail wagging, my ears perked, and my whole little body hoping that you might be the one.   PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question, please ask in the e-mail.   All dogs are adopted on a first come - first served basis.
