My story

Nola is a lovable, wiggly Cairn Terrier with a sweet, affectionate personality once she feels safe and understood. She’s food‑motivated, curious, and playful, and she enjoys toys, gentle interactions, and cozy downtime after she’s had a chance to explore. Nola is crate trained, has a “puppy‑at‑heart” spirit, and previously lived with her brother Leo — who is also at Lost Our Home — making her comfortable coexisting with another dog when properly matched. While Nola can be initially fearful or avoidant, she warms up beautifully with patient encouragement and tasty treats. She has shown some mild resource‑guarding behaviors around food, toys, or personal space. Because of these factors, she’s best suited for a home with older kids (7+) who can help maintain a calm, predictable routine and understand her boundaries. Nola and Leo complement each other well, so if you’re looking for a tender, spirited little terrier — and perhaps a companion for Leo as well — Nola could be the perfect match for your family.
