My story

🐾🖤 Gio — A Smart Black & White Boy Waiting for His Forever Family 🖤🐾 --- 📌 Basic Information 🐶 Name: Gio 🎂 Age: 9 months (Born May 10, 2025) ⚖️ Weight: 10 kg (22 lbs) 🚹 Gender: Male (Neutered) 🐕 Breed: Mixed breed 🎨 Color: Black & White --- 💛 Personality & Charm Gio is a very intelligent boy. He’s not the type to run up to strangers right away, but once he builds trust, he becomes deeply devoted and attached to his person. He may seem calm at first, but he has a sweet and affectionate side. 🤍 When he decides you’re “his person,” his loyalty and love are truly special. --- 👩‍🦰👨 Interaction with People Women: Initially shy, but warms up quickly — treats are the fastest way to his heart 😆 Men: Needs a little more time compared to women. Slow and gentle approaches are best. He will come closer with treats, but patience helps. Children: Best suited for a home with older children who understand and respect dogs. --- 🐶🐾 Interaction with Other Animals Dogs: Loves running and playing with familiar friends. He plays very well with dogs whose energy matches his. Cats: Unknown (no experience yet). --- 🏡 Training & Lifestyle 🚽 Potty trained — prefers outdoor potty but can also use indoor options 🏠 Crate trained — stays calmly inside without resistance ⚡ Energy level: Calm indoors; playful and active with peer dogs (medium-low overall) 🤲 Handling: Fully comfortable with family; needs a little time with strangers 🔔 Barking: May give a short alert bark to strangers, but not excessive 🏃 Escape tendency: None — prefers staying close to his guardian 🍽 Appetite: Excellent; no food guarding issues 🦮 Leash skills: Former “companion patrol dog” — walks very well on leash 🎗 Leash reactivity: May feel slightly tense if someone approaches on leash, but easily redirected to focus on handler 🚗 Car rides: No motion sickness, even on 5+ hour trips; relaxed even when alone in the car 🧸 Destructive behavior: No damage to household items; enjoys chewing his own toys --- 🏢 Home Environment ✔️ Apartment living: Yes ✔️ Yard required: No ✔️ Only dog or multi-dog home: Both suitable Gio responds well to calm and confident leadership. In a stable and loving home, he truly thrives. --- 🥺 Rescue Story Gio was separated from his mother before he was even 10 days old due to repeated complaints, and he was brought to a fire station with his littermates. Although he grew up without his mother and was bottle-fed, he has grown into a strong and healthy young boy with no medical issues. From such a fragile beginning, he has blossomed into a brave and beautiful dog who is now ready to meet his forever family. --- Gio is looking for a family who will build trust with patience and stay by his side for life. He may be cautious at first, but his heart is warm and full of love. Please be Gio’s forever family. ♡

If you have any questions or would like to adopt GIO, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
