A total teddy bear, a little show pony, and your new best friend, eight year old Harley is waiting to meet you right now! The fact that Harley is here with us today is a true miracle, and it's a miracle made possible by your incredible kindness! When Harley first came into our care in November, his body bore the scars of horrible cruelty and neglect; At some point during his awful years of surviving as an 'indoor/outdoor' cat, Harley's tail was not only somehow tragically removed, but he was also horrifically shot in the side. Somehow, despite everything he has been through, Harley is one of the silliest, most outgoing and charming cats we have ever met! He truly has the heart of a survivor, and it's a heart that's full of love for everyone he meets. 💛✨ Harley LOVES to be in the spotlight, he sings and talks and chirps with pride while you tell him what a good lookin' dude he is. Massage that handsome face of his, brush down his back and scratch right above his nubbly tail, and he'll practically dance on his tip toes to try and encourage you to spoil him more. Lap cat, 'sitting on your desk' cat, 'watching TV with you' cat, best buddy, chatterbox, snuggle bug, kitten at heart, how could we ever describe all of the wonderful things that make Harley the BEST? Harley loves a laser pointer or wiggly wand, and he is quite the agile guy. He jumps, climbs, and runs (while looking a little silly), but he has no problem keeping active in between naps! After everything he's been through, Harley has some special needs: He has arthritis in his knees and elbows, which he gets a monthly injection of arthritis medication to manage. Because of his arthritis and possibly in part due to the trauma to his tail, Harley has difficulty squatting to use a litter box - That means that despite having all four feet in the litter, sometimes Harley will magically pee on the floor! This is easily contained with a puppy pad on the ground outside of his litter, and of course with a pat on the head for Harley, because it's not his fault at all. Harley loves children, and he's been just fine with the other kitties in our care. He would prefer to find a home with no dogs.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Harley, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
