Maia

My story

Maia is a very sweet and loving Collie mix. She loves to play and is a big time snuggler. She is very eager to learn and learns new words so quickly! She is truly a wonderful dog. Maia was a COVID puppy, and when the hustle and bustle of downtown San Diego came back online, it triggered significant anxiety for her. She is *not* a city dog and does not enjoy city walks. She is very sound sensitive and prefers quiet hiking trails or a big fenced in yard - and she does love dog parks! Maia’s anxiety is managed by daily medication. She is easily alarmed by sudden sounds and thrives in a slow paced environment where her nervous system can settle. While Maia is generally good with other dogs, she does best with lower energy dogs as high anxiety dogs exacerbate her own anxiety. I adopted her without being able to introduce her to my roommate’s dog first, and unfortunately, they are both anxious and it is unfortunately not working out. I am looking for her perfect home where she can thrive
