My story

Chewy is the kindest, sweetest dog you could ever hope to meet. His owner passed away leaving him in need a a knee person to love and watch over. I rarely say this (have I ever?) but Chewy is without a flaw. As long as you don’t count his tender age of 11 against him. Chewy is quiet, well mannered, house trained, good with everyone (except cats and that’s only if they are afraid to stand up for themselves.). Chewy is 15 lbs, excellent to groom and rides well in the car as well as walks nicely on the leash. He’s neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and just had his teeth cleaned (with many extractions because his teeth were horrible). He hears and sees well and hopefully has many years ahead of him! Chewy is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Chewy’s adoption fee is $250 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue! Please understand that sometimes we get numerous applications for specific dogs and as a volunteer-based rescue, we do not always have the time to respond to each one. We do our best to choose the most suitable home for each dog based on their specific personality and needs. Please note you MAY NOT be contacted for up to 10 days to schedule a meet and greet if your family is the most suitable for this rescue dog. Regrettably, we do not have the manpower currently to contact all applicants. We keep ALL applications in our database so please feel free to contact us when you see another dog of interest. We appreciate all applicants and do our best to pair every dog and family for a successful and happy life.
