Brooke

My story

Brooke is a beautiful black lab mix who is 3 years old, 50 pounds, spayed, and medically up to date. She’s still pretty new to us, but one thing is already clear—she’s a very sweet girl with a big heart. Brooke can take a little moment to warm up to new people and new places, but once she knows you’re a friend, her gentle, affectionate side really shines through. Bonus points if you come bearing cheese—her absolute favorite way to make fast friends. She’s the kind of dog who forms strong bonds with her people and truly loves being part of the action. Because of that, she’d do best in a home where she isn’t left alone for long stretches and has a nice fenced yard where she can feel safe and secure while enjoying some outdoor time. She is prone to accidents when unsupervised, but does well in a consistent routine. Brooke has done well with larger dogs in the past (with proper introductions, of course), and she would likely do best with older kids who can respect her as she settles in. At the end of the day, Brooke is just looking for her people—someone who will give her a little time, a lot of love, and maybe a snack or two along the way. In return, she’ll be a loyal, loving companion who’s absolutely worth it. Our adoption fees include the following: all of our dogs/puppies are current on vaccinations (DHPP and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, heartworm tested and current on preventative, microchipped, treated for fleas/ticks and are spayed or neutered. Our large dog adoption fee is generally $175 + tax. Our small dog and puppy adoption fee is generally $300+ tax. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Due to space limitations, we do not hold dogs. Because we are on a busy street, we require that all dogs leaving the shelter be in a carrier or on leash. All pets remain up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee paid.
