Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617Could he do well with kids? Yes, with children around 10 years old, on kid-by-kid basis.Could he do well with other dogs? We believe he would do best in a home with dogs of the opposite sex, on a dog-by-dog basis.Has this dog lived with cats? Yes. [The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---What volunteers have to say about this animal:Meet Bruno – Big Personality, Busy Explorer, Loyal-in-the-MakingBruno is an American Pit Bull Terrier mix in the prime of his life—active, curious, and full of personality. Some of you may remember him from a previous stay with us, and while we’re glad to see him again, we’re really hoping his next home is his forever one.Bruno loves being outside, taking in the world with enthusiasm. He’s strong on leash (especially when other dogs are nearby), but inside he settles into a curious, engaged companion who enjoys being part of the action. What Bruno Is Like:- Active and outdoorsy — he loves to explore- Tends to jump up when excited (especially for treats)- Enjoys independent play and doing his own thing- Has lived with cats- Shows mild guarding tendencies, but no aggressionBruno can be a bit “full of himself” at first, jumping up to greet new people or barking to communicate his needs, but he settles with structure and clear boundaries. He prefers to play independently and may move away if approached during play, showing he values his space at times. With other dogs, Bruno can be inappropriate in his approach, coming in head-on and getting tense. For this reason, we believe he’d do best with a compatible dog of the opposite sex, with slow, thoughtful introductions.Bruno’s Ideal Home Looks Like:- Kids around 10+, on a case-by-case basis- Possibly another dog of the opposite sex, pending meet-and-greets- A family comfortable with an active, strong dog- People who can provide structure, consistency, and guidanceBruno is a dog who will thrive with the right balance of freedom and boundaries. He’s smart, expressive, and full of potential—just waiting for someone to help him channel it.---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Bruno is a young, active dog in his prime who loved exploring outdoors. On a leash, he pulled strongly, especial
