My story

Hello! My name is Sophie!I`m a very sweet, gentle girl. A gentle giant if you will! I can be a bit timid at first but come out of my shell with a bit of time to sniff and accept yummy treats from new people. I was found as a stray with a serious hind leg injury. I had to go to the vet immediately to have it removed due to the extent of damage. I`m getting used to walking on three legs and I`m doing a rather fabulous job if I may say! Since my history is unknown, my GHS friends aren`t sure if I`ve lived indoors before. My new family should be prepared to help me with things that may be harder to adjust to with three legs, such as stairs.MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Teenagers should be ok. Given my timid nature, I wouldn’t be a good match for young children.OTHER DOGS: Yes, with a respectful dog. I don’t think I would enjoy a rambunctious pup. CATS: Potentially, with a cat confident around dogs and used to living with large dogs.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: Potentially, if you have experience with or knowledge of livestock guardian breeds.FENCED-IN YARD: Rural would be my favorite option given my breed but if my new home is urban, I would do best with a fenced yard for extra outdoor time.
