My story

We adopted our dog about three months ago and during that time we’ve come to see just how sweet and loving she can be with the people she knows and trusts. She has formed strong bonds with us and shows a gentle, affectionate personality in a familiar environment. However, we currently live in an apartment complex where she is regularly exposed to new people, and she has shown consistent reactivity in those situations. When meeting unfamiliar individuals, she can become fearful and defensive, which presents as growling and snapping. Despite our efforts, this has been an ongoing challenge. We truly believe she has a lot of potential in the right environment—one that offers more space, fewer close interactions with strangers, and the ability to invest in consistent behavioral training. Unfortunately, due to our current living situation and financial limitations, we are unable to provide her with the level of support and training she needs to feel safe and confident around new people.
