My story

Leonard is house-trained, moderately obedient, and has been a great companion for the last 6 years. We adopted him as a puppy from a shelter in PA after his mother rejected the entire litter, and unfortunately we feel that without his mother he developed reactive and aggressive tendencies towards other dogs & occasionally people. Despite training and anti-anxiety medications his challenging behaviors have continued and we cannot manage him safely any longer with two little kids at home; specifically, he bit a person on a walk a year ago who surprised him when he jumped out in front of him. Len is 90 pounds of loveable energy and loves to snuggle. He is weary of new people, but once he trusts you he forms deep bonds, with his “circle of trust and love” currently at 11 people He likes to play outside, chew on sticks, chase a ball, and lounge around. He would be a protective and loving companion for a person or couple who don't socialize much and have a yard.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Leonard, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
