My story

Meet Quiche Quiche is the mostly gray, shyer kitty of the breakfast family! This petite kitten came to HAP when her owner could no longer care for a large colony so while she's used to living in a home, she's still adjusting to more human interaction and loving. Quiche will come out from one of her many hiding places with a little bit of baby talk and time so needs a quieter home with another confident cat to help her continue building her confidence. Quiche has been living in our free roaming cat room and has been making some friends but still prefers to hide when humans are around. Quiche loves her tunnels and hidey knooks and loves to spend her day observing but is starting to come out and be more brave. So stop by today to see if Quiche would be a great addition to your home! Kittens require a significant amount of patience and training to learn how to behave properly in a home. The first few months of having a kitten is a critical time to improve socialization and help your kitten become confident. Exposing your kitten to all kinds of touch, sounds, people, and animals can ensure a well-socialized adult cat. Remember, kittens aren’t born knowing how to live in a human’s world, it is up to you to teach them how to make good decisions in a positive and caring manner. The more positive interactions they have in their first year of life will set them up for better behavior in the future. If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific cat but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! We may require all household members, including children, to come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, and a small bag of food to get you started.
