Duchess

My story

It is with a heavy heart that we must make the decision to depart with our beloved female cat, Duchess. She has been a wonderful part of our family for the last five years. D.O.B 06/09/2021. We have a six month old daughter, and there have been too many incidents and close calls of Duchess coming by or leaping across her and scratching her. With our current configuration, there is no way to separate them while continuing to offer her a quality of life. We believe rehoming is a more ethical choice than sedation drugs, or worse, declawing, and we fear what might happen when our daughter begins crawling. She is a sweet and cuddly cat and we believe she loves our daughter very much, but very active and doesn’t understand the danger of her activity. She is great with her two cat brothers, unsure about dogs, and would advise against her going to another home with a young child. Duchess is free of any adoption fees to go to a good home, and we will vet new owners to the best of our ability.
