My story

DOB: Jan 11, 2016 Birdie is the sweetest girl looking for her forever home! She absolutely loves her humans and adores attention from them. Whenever her humans come home, she always running to greet them and get pets. Very sadly, Birdie has recently been diagnosed with oral cancer. She can't have dry kibble or hard treats, so she's enjoying a diet of only wet food, mouses, broths, and lots of Churus. She currently on 2 different medications to help make her feel more comfortable. She takes 0.5ml of gabapentin 2 times a day for pain and 0.35 ml of meloxicam every other day for inflammation. She still has a goo appetite, eating and drinking well. Adopting Birdie would be a palliative adoption. She's currently doing well and deserves to be showered with love and attention, but given her diagnosis, changes to her condition are likely somewhere down the line. She spends most of her time napping and resting in safe nooks and crannies. She loves human company, but does enjoy quiet, safe spaces under couches or beds when she's not feeling the best. She still likes to play, especially with wand toys, hiding away until she has the perfect chance to pounce! Birdie is a very vocal girl but is easily soothed by attention from her people! She likes to "hunt" toys and meow until someone acknowledges her efforts. Special note from Birdie's foster family: Birdie is the sweetest soul and we're so incredibly sad over everything she's been through. She's remained the absolute best cat throughout everything and we're hopeful that she can find a peaceful forever home where she can enjoy her last chapters surrounded by love. Thank you for welcoming a senior cat into your family - an adoption fee of your choice is appreciated, vs. our standard adult cat adoption fee of $250.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Birdie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
