My story

Hi everybody! My name is Ellie. I am the sweetest little girl who loves to snuggle more than anything on Earth. When my brothers and sister are playing, I follow the people around so they will pick me up and put me in their laps for snuggles and kisses. I just love grown up people and little people (aka kids) so much! I cannot get enough attention. I am always sneaking up on people fishing for hugs and kisses … and when I am really lucky I get a nice back scratch which I LOVE! I have the cutest black patch on my right eye and then a patch of black on my back left leg. Foster mommy says my markings make me so unique and adorable! I get along great with my siblings and we all play nicely together. I came to Help A Dog Smile while I was still in my mama’s belly. We were destined to be born in the desert, but we got really lucky and came into the world under the care of nice rescue people. I was born January 31, 2026. I have been introduced to several adults and children to ensure good socialization. My foster mommy thinks I look like a mix of a Jack Russel Terrier and an Australian Shepherd whatever that means! All I know is that I am small, 9 pounds to be exact! When I am all grown up, the rescue peeps think I will be around 25 pounds. I am not gonna stay a puppy forever! I am also gonna live for a long time, like 15 years, so you hafta treat me like a family member cuz I am not disposable for any reason, like if you are moving, having babies, or for any reason! I am not disposable for my entire life with you! Of course, the rescue peeps are smart and always recommend that we all go to training classes to get a good start. That way we can bond, too!! Way too much fun! Get this … I already know how to use potty pads … I could pick up house training easily. My foster mommy does not let us use the dog door because we are so little. We do get to play in the yard 3 times a day when she takes us out and supervises us. Also, I heard my foster mommy say I am spayed, microchipped, and had my first puppy shots. My adoption fee is $350 which helps pay for some of those costs. If you are interested in making me a permanent member of your family, please fill out our online application: https://www.helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application/.  May 4, 2026, 10:44 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ellie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
