My story

Dusty is looking for a patient, understanding home that will give her the time she needs to feel safe and settle in. New people and environments can be overwhelming for her at first, so she may take a little while to warm up — but once she trusts you, she is incredibly loving and loyal. When she first arrived, she was fearful and unsure, but after decompressing and building trust, her sweet personality really started to shine. She’s truly a people dog once she feels comfortable and loves being close to her person. She also enjoys relaxing outside and has discovered that sunbathing is one of her favorite hobbies. She may do well with another confident, well-balanced dog that can appropriately set boundaries. After being corrected once by another dog in foster, she quickly adjusted and now happily follows her canine friend around like they’ve always been besties. She will thrive in a home that understands trust takes time and is willing to let her move at her own pace. The patience you give her will absolutely be worth it — because once she loves you, she loves you completely.
