My story

Jive is a five-year-old, 17-pound Chihuahua mix who is still learning the world can be a safe place. When he was found wandering the streets, he was covered in scratches and sores, clear signs that life hadn’t been kind to him. It’s no surprise that Jive can feel scared and anxious in new situations, but beneath that worry is an incredibly sweet and loving little dog. With people he trusts, Jive’s true personality shines. He offers gentle kisses, happily curls up in laps, and shows just how much love he has been holding onto. He also has a playful side. Squeaky toys are his absolute favorite, and he delights in a good game of fetch. Watching him relax and have fun is truly special. Jive will do best with an experienced, patient adopter who understands fearful dogs and can continue helping him build confidence. He’s already making progress with a trainer and does well walking on a harness, though he’s still uncomfortable with a leash around his neck. With time, compassion, and consistency, Jive has so much potential to blossom. His $250 adoption fee includes neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, and a wellness visit.
