My story

QUICK FACTS Name: Ginger Age: About 7 Years Old Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Jindo – Labrador Mix Color: Brown and White Weight: 19.5kg / 43lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY Back in early 2020, I was found wandering around with three other puppies when we were only about four months old. We stayed close to each other, unsure of the world but trying our best to get by together. Then kind people stepped in and brought us somewhere safe. For the first time, life began to feel a little less uncertain. I’ve grown up since those puppy days, but I still carry that gentle, hopeful heart with me.Now I’m ready to find someone to share all the brighter days ahead.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Spayed & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY Hi, I’m Ginger. I have a naturally calm and peaceful way. People often describe me as gentle, steady, and quietly sweet. When I first meet someone new, I can seem a little reserved and unsure. I’m still learning how to fully understand and trust human connection, so I may avoid eye contact at first or take a little time to relax. But once I begin to feel safe, my affectionate side slowly appears, and I truly enjoy staying close to the people I trust. I’ll offer a quiet kind of companionship that grows deeper with trust each day.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a little shy at first, but it doesn’t take me long to warm up—especially if treats are involved. Once I feel comfortable, I happily accept gentle touch and quickly begin showing my affectionate side. I’m comfortable being picked up, and when I truly trust someone, I’ll even roll over to share my belly and enjoy the closeness together. · With Dogs: I enjoy greeting unfamiliar dogs and saying hello with curiosity, though I don’t always feel the need to keep the interaction going into playtime. I tend to feel most comfortable around dogs close to my own size, and I approach them with a gentle, friendly attitude. I’m a little socially clueless in a charming way. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have moderate energy level – I enjoy spending time outdoors and have a nice balance of energy, happily relaxing once I’ve had a chance to explore and move around. On walks, I can get quite eager about where I want to go and may pull strongly when something catches my interest. I’m still gaining confidence with the world around me, and busy roads or sudden noises can feel overwhelming at times. In quieter places, I walk much more comfortably, but unexpected movement or loud sounds may startle me and make me try to move away quickly. With patient guidance, calm environments, and continued positive experiences, I’m steadily learning to feel safer and more secure outside.   TRAINING & HABITS I have a calm, easygoing nature and feel comfortable sharing my space, even around food. I’m generally very quiet and rarely bark. I settle nicely in a kennel I do well with both indoor pads and outdoor bathroom breaks. Car rides themselves don’t bother me, though I feel most comfortable when someone gently lifts me into the car to help me get settled.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES Walks are still something I’m working on. New environments can feel overwhelming at times, and I look to my person for reassurance and guidance. The good news is that I’m very food-motivated and eager to learn, so with patience, gentle routines, and encouragement, I’m expected to continue gaining confidence beautifully. I would do best in a calm, understanding home that can give me the time and steady support I need to settle in at my own pace.    GINGER'S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2733467##
