Callie (Chiweenie) is 7 years old and 14 poundsDollie is 7 years old and 11 pounds Fostered in Oak Island Adoption fee is $350 total for both Short list: Working on housetraining, loves to go on walks, super sweet, velcro dogs, loves to snuggle, cat friendly, gets along with small dogs, cratetrained, needs quiet home without alot of visitors, no kids under 12 Two are better than one! And that's the case with Dollie and Callie. These girls are the perfect blend of sweet and sassy. We are looking for a quiet home without a lot of visitors for these sweet ladies. They are a bonded pair and will only be adopted together. Dolly is as sweet as they come and absolutely loves belly rubs. She enjoys long walks, exploring the beach and the neighborhood, and taking in all the sights and smells along the way. After a fun day of adventures, Dolly is happiest curled up in your lap for some quiet snuggle time. Callie also loves her walks, but her favorite place is right by your side. She’s a gentle, affectionate companion who enjoys staying close and is perfectly content simply being near you while you go about your daily routine. Like Dolly, Callie loves to snuggle and relax after a busy day. Callie loves her people, but is the self appointed security guard of her home. And she would be employee of the year at any security company - she does her job with gusto. She will bark and nip at the pants legs of those who come into her home. She has made progress with training, but needs a home without a lot of visitors. She does well if you put her up when new people come over as well. However, once Callie gets to know someone, she accepts them and trusts them, so they are allowed in the home without dramatics. To help their new family get started on the right foot and work on introductions with new people to the home, we will pay for a few sessions with a trainer in their new home. Both girls are wonderfully calm around the cat in the home. And unlike most dachshunds, they actually come when they are called. They’re working hard on their house training and making progress, but their new home should expect accidents. They do well with their foster mom's working schedule and would be fine in a family that works outside the home. They get along with small dogs and would do great as only dogs or with small dog friends. They are great on a leash and not reactive at all to people or other dogs. Dollie and Callie both do very well in their crates and even like to keep the doors open so they can pop in and out throughout the day. At bedtime, they settle in easily, sleep soundly through the night, and wake up ready for another happy day together. Dollie and Callie are spayed, UTD on shots, heartworm negative and had dentals. Dolly has luxating patellas and she was born with very bowlegged back legs. We had them radiographed and the vet said it was not surgical. They do not cause her any pain or get in her way of being an active dachshund. Their new family will need to drive to Oak Island, NC to adopt. We prefer families in NC, VA, SC, eastern TN, MD, northern GA and WV. To get the adoption process started, fil out an application at www.doxiebyproxy.org/application. If you’re looking for two loyal little shadows to share your days and your couch, Dollie and Callie may be the perfect match. These bonded girls have so much love to give and are ready to find a calm, patient home where they can continue to thrive together. In return, they’ll reward you with endless snuggles, companionship, and devotion. ##2688963##
