My story

Meet Bella Bella is a fun-loving, approximately 10-year-old, 22-pound terrier mix looking for a person to share life's adventures with. She loves exploring the yard, chasing squirrels, and playing with her canine foster friends. After a good adventure, she's happiest curled up at your feet or beside you on the sofa. Bella has settled beautifully into foster care. She is house trained, sleeps soundly through the night, and enjoys a predictable routine. She can relax on her own but loves being close to her people. Like many terriers, Bella enjoys being active outdoors. She would benefit from someone who can continue building her foundation skills, including loose leash walking and learning that the world doesn't always require a response. She enjoys training and is happy to work for treats or a game. Bella would do best in a house with a securely fenced yard. Apartment or condo living isn't the right fit for her, as elevators, narrow hallways, and busy shared spaces are stressful for her to navigate. A suburban or quieter neighbourhood would suit her much better. Bella has been friendly with the other dogs in her foster home and enjoys playing with them. She would likely be happiest with a compatible canine companion or as an only dog. Busy dog parks are unlikely to be her idea of fun. She'd rather have a few good friends than a crowded social calendar. Bella communicates with her body language and appreciates people who respect her signals. In her previous home she was reported to bite if startled while resting or handled unexpectedly. We have not seen this behaviour in foster care, but because of her history she is looking for an adult home. Bella was recently treated for Giardia and has had multiple negative fecal tests. She is doing well and is also on a healthy weight-loss journey, so her new person will have the rewarding job of helping her stay active and feeling her best. Bella is looking for someone who values kindness, patience, and companionship. In return, you'll gain a loyal little sidekick who is always ready for an adventure, a squirrel chase, and a cozy evening by your side. Due to time constraints, we cannot respond to every email asking for more information on a dog. Please carefully review the bio for the dog and our adoption process https://www.speakingofdogs.com/adoption/adoption-process/.  If you are still interested in adopting, please fill out the adoption application form at the bottom of that page.      July 21, 2026, 9:52 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bella, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
