My story

Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog. Millie is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please email our foster coordinator Kris, at kris.gurka@foothillsanimal.org to set up an appointment. Millie is a beautiful girl with a gentle heart and a quiet spirit. While she may not be the dog who rushes up to greet new people, she has so much love to give to the person willing to earn her trust. Millie is naturally shy and takes her time getting to know new people and environments. She gains confidence from having another friendly dog around and would thrive in a home with a calm, well-adjusted canine companion who can help show her that the world is a safe place. She loves spending time outdoors and is crate trained, leash trained, and doggie door trained, making her an easy addition to a patient home. As Millie begins to feel safe, you'll see her confidence grow. With gentle encouragement, reassurance, and someone who can help her work through her fears instead of allowing her to hide from them, she'll gradually seek you out for affection and companionship. Watching her come out of her shell is a rewarding experience that creates a truly special bond. Millie is looking for a family that understands that trust takes time. Give her patience, kindness, and consistency, and you'll gain a loyal companion who will quietly steal your heart.
