My story

Dirt is a 12–18-month-old Saint Bernard who is still growing into both his giant paws and his confidence. Now safe with Big Hearts for Big Breeds, this handsome young boy is looking for a patient family that will help him continue learning that the world is a safe place. Like many young Saint Bernards, Dirt has a gentle heart and a thoughtful nature. He does well with children and has shown himself to be non-reactive around other dogs. His compatibility with cats is currently unknown as we continue to learn more about him. Dirt can be shy and nervous around men when first meeting them, but with patience and kindness, he warms up and begins to show his sweet personality. True to his Saint Bernard roots, he also has a protective nature and appreciates slow, respectful introductions to new people entering the home. Once he understands that everyone is a friend, he settles in nicely. As a young giant-breed dog, Dirt will benefit from continued socialization, structure, and positive experiences that help build his confidence. With the right guidance, he has all the makings of a loyal, loving companion who will be deeply devoted to his family.
