My story

High in the mountains of Wanju City, where the air was thin and the winters were harsh, there stood an old shelter that struggled to provide even the most basic care. There was no running water, no electricityonly the dedication of volunteers who climbed the rugged paths carrying food and water, determined to keep the dogs alive. Among them was Yeonkyung. Even in such difficult conditions, Yeonkyungs gentle spirit never faded. She greeted every volunteer with soft eyes and a quiet wag of her tail, leaning into their hands as if to say, Im still here. I still believe in kindness. It didnt take long for her to become a favoriteher calm, affectionate nature bringing comfort to those who worked so hard to care for her. When Wanju City built a new municipal shelter, hope seemed within reach. But not every dog could make the journey. As relocation began, many were left behind, facing an uncertain and heartbreaking fate. Yeonkyung was one of them. In that critical moment, a rescue group stepped in. Determined to give these forgotten dogs a chance, they worked tirelessly to save as many as they could. Yeonkyung was among the lucky onesgently lifted out of the only world she had known and given a chance at something more. Since her rescue, Yeonkyung has shown just how special she truly is. She is sweet, affectionate, and deeply loving. She thrives on human connection, happily soaking up every bit of attention and touch. Her personality is beautifully balancedcalm, stable, and easy to be around. She gets along well with other dogs, though she prefers companions who respect her space and gentle nature. What she truly longs for, however, is a home where she can be the center of someones worlda place where her quiet devotion can shine. Yeonkyung has already endured more than most dogs ever should. Yet she remains trusting, kind, and full of love to give. Now, all she needs is a family to call her own. A calm home. A soft place to rest. Gentle hands to hold her close. For Yeonkyung, that would mean everything. And for the person who welcomes her home, it means gaining a loyal, loving companion whose gratitude will last a lifetime. Good with women: yes, excellent Good with men: yes, excellent Good with kids: yes, older kids recommended as her interactions with kids has been limited Good with other dogs: yes, she does best with calm and friendly dogs - she stays away from dogs that are pushy and constantly bother her Good with cats: unknown House trained: yes Crate trained: yes Energy level: Medium Can be handled/touched: yes, she enjoys being touched and receiving attention Barker: no Flight risk: no; however, all dogs should be considered flight risks in new environments Food aggressive: no Walks on leash: yes Leash reactive to people or dogs: no Rides well in car: yes Destructive: no Needs a home with a yard: preferred Needs a home with another dog: no Can live in an apartment: possibly Please visit our website niagaradogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.
