My story

Pax was rescued by a good Samaritan who saw teenagers cornering him and throwing bottles at him while he cowered as a stray in the corner of a gas station. For months, Pax survived on his own at a busy gas station off a major highway, through unprecedented snow storms, traffic, and everything else life threw at him. And somehow, despite all of that, Pax is still here.Other important info:Paxs story began in one of the hardest places imaginable, alone on the streets beside a busy interstate, surviving in a rough part of town where kindness was hard to come by. This handsome grey and white bulldog mix spent his days wandering between an abandoned building and a convenience store parking lot, searching for scraps of food and a safe place to rest. During the harshest stretch of winter, Pax endured snowstorms and ice-covered nights completely on his own, curling up wherever he could find shelter from the bitter cold. Despite everything he faced, Pax never lost the gentle spirit hidden inside him. Fittingly, the name Pax means peace, and beneath the hardship and survival was a dog simply longing for comfort, love, and safety.Everything changed the day a Good Samaritan witnessed several teenagers cruelly throwing glass bottles at Pax in the parking lot of the gas station he called home. Refusing to leave him behind, the man went over, and got him safely into his vehicle, and protected him until rescue could step in. In foster care, Pax finally had the chance to rest, heal, and learn that not all humans wanted to hurt him. Little by little, the frightened stray faded away, and his true personality began to shine. And once Pax discovered he was safe, he also discovered his voice, literally. This boy loves to talk, happily carrying on full conversations with his people, greeting everyone he meets, and even chatting with other dogs during his walks.Today, Pax is a joyful, affectionate dog who absolutely loves being part of the world around him. He adores long walks, welcomes strangers like old friends, and thrives on companionship and connection. Pax has known hardship, loneliness, and survival, but he has also learned trust, comfort, and love. Now, hes ready for the final chapter he deserves: a forever family who will make sure the best days of his life are still ahead of him. Its not necessarily barking, because there is always a reason for the talking. Its actually very endearing. When Pax goes on walks he attracts attention because people want to say hello to him just to hear him talk. He is very quiet inside the house and only barks if he needs to go out or if he wants to eat.Flight risk: All dogs should initially be considered a flight riskFood aggressive: NoCurrent food: Diamond Naturals sensitive skinWalks on leash: YesLeash reactive to people or dogs: No, but he does like to stop and say hi to others as he walks, and sing the song of his peopleRides well in car: YesDestructive: NoNeeds a home with a yard: YesNeeds a home with another dog: NoCan live in an apartment: No Please visit our website niagaradogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.
