Additional info:Rio's Story - From the Euthanasia List to a Second ChanceRio entered the Masan city shelter as a young puppy alongside his mom, Luna, and his sibling. Luna was later placed on the euthanasia list but was luckily pulled into foster care just in time. Rio and his sibling, however, were left behind. As Rio got older, he too was added to the euthanasia list. By then, Luna had been adopted and was living safely in the United States. When her former foster learned about Rio's situation, she and I spent three days agonizing over the decision-ultimately deciding we couldn't let him die. We rescued him just one day before he was scheduled to be euthanized.Since Rio had never lived in a home before, everything was new and overwhelming. He made mistakes, but with daily walks and consistent training, he's now learning quickly, responding to his name, and getting comfortable on leash.Like his mom, Luna, Rio has a fun, energetic streak and a bit of a mischievous side-but it only adds to his charm. He has an adorable, childlike sweetness and clearly craves human affection. He loves being petted, and everyone who meets him remembers his mismatched ears-they might just be his most iconic feature.Rio can still be a little shy around men, but he's a social, people-oriented dog and warms up with gentle patience. He'd thrive in a home with older children (elementary school age and up) who can match his playful energy.
