My story

Taylor, affectionately known as Bao (pronounced Bay-Oh), is a sweet 6 1/2 year old, 37 lb, loving dog who is searching for a new forever home after the heartbreaking loss of her human. Adopted from Friends For Life as a puppy in 2020, Bao recently returned to us through our commitment to always welcome back animals adopted from us.Bao is a little overwhelmed at the Adoption Center, however, those who know her best describe a completely different dog at home. There, she's a friendly, well-mannered companion who loves people and greets everyone she meets with kindness and affection.Bao is house-trained, dog-door trained, and has excellent manners around the house. She's comfortable being left alone, sleeps peacefully on her dog bed at night, and rides beautifully in the car. She's not particularly interested in toys—she'd much rather spend her time relaxing with her people and enjoying the comforts of home.Because she's feeling nervous at the Adoption Center, Bao will need a patient family willing to give her time to settle in and let her true personality shine. Once she feels safe and secure, she's a wonderfully sweet companion with so much love to give.Bao would be happiest as the only dog in the home. While she enjoys people, she does not care for confident dogs and prefers not to share her space with other canine companions.If you're looking for a loyal, gentle friend who will reward your patience with endless affection, Bao may be the perfect match. Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).
