My story

Hi there… my name is Turbo, and I’m hoping you might be the person I’ve been waiting for. I’m a small, scruffy, wire-haired terrier mix—about 15 pounds of quiet sweetness. My name might make you think I’m full speed all the time, but really, I’m more of a gentle, steady kind of girl who just enjoys being close to my people and feeling safe. I actually started my journey here at Central Arizona Animal Rescue when I was just a tiny puppy—about 4 months old. Back then, I was adopted into what I thought would be my forever home. I grew up there, learned about life in a family, and got used to all the comforts of being loved. But recently, for reasons I don’t quite understand, I found myself back here at the rescue. It’s been a little confusing, if I’m being honest… but the nice people here keep telling me that it just means my real forever family is still out there. And I really hope they’re right. Let me tell you a little about me. I’m a pretty quiet girl—you might even forget I’m around sometimes because I’m so well-behaved. I don’t bark much at all (actually, I don’t think anyone here has really heard me bark!), which makes me a pretty easy companion to have around the house. I like peaceful environments where I can relax and just be near my humans. I’ve lived with kids before, so I already know how to be gentle and respectful around them. I understand that little humans can be part of the pack, and I do just fine sharing my space and my love with them. One of the things I’m most proud of is that I’m house trained—that’s right, I already know where to go potty! I’ve also done really well with other dogs. Right now, I’m sharing a kennel with several of them, and we all get along nicely. I’m friendly, easygoing, and not the kind of dog who tries to stir up trouble. When it comes to fun, I do have a playful side… especially when it’s hot outside. Believe it or not, I actually enjoy taking a little dip in the pool to cool off! There’s something so refreshing about splashing around and then finding a cozy spot to dry off afterward. My wire-haired coat is another bonus—it doesn’t shed much, so I’m fairly low-maintenance when it comes to grooming. Just a little brushing here and there, and I’m good to go. I’ve also had all my important vet care taken care of. I’m spayed, up to date on my vaccinations, and I’ve been microchipped, which means if I ever get lost, I’ll always have a way to find my way back home. That part is really important to me… because what I want more than anything is a home that lasts forever this time. What I’m looking for now is someone who will see me not as a dog who was returned—but as a dog who still has so much love to give. Someone who will let me settle in, give me a soft place to rest, and remind me every day that I belong. I may not be the loudest or the flashiest dog here, but I promise I will be one of the most loyal. I’ll be the quiet little shadow at your side, the gentle friend who’s always happy just being near you. And once I know I’m home… I’ll give you my whole heart. If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family, I would love to meet you. Please email mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment to come visit me here at Central Arizona Animal Rescue. I’ll be right here, waiting patiently for my second chance at forever.
