QUICK FACTS Name: Shiro Age: 3 years old (Born January 2023) Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Shih Tzu, Chihuahua mix Color: White, Brown Weight: 5kg / 11lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was once part of a loving family and grew up alongside my dog siblings, including my brother Hiro. After our owner's passing, unexpected changes in the household meant our family could no longer keep us safe. Wanting the very best for us, they made the difficult decision to ask the rescue for help. Thanks to their selfless choice, Hiro and I arrived safely at the care facility, where we've been given a fresh start and a bright future. Now I'm patiently waiting for a forever family who will love and cherish me for the rest of my life. I can't wait to begin my next chapter filled with love, happiness, and new adventures.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY While I'm a little shy in the beginning, I warm up quickly once I feel comfortable. Having grown up with my dog siblings my whole life, I naturally find comfort and confidence around other dogs. Overall, I'm a sweet, friendly boy who enjoys both people and canine friends. Compared to my brother Hiro, I'm a little more outgoing and curious, and I love making new friends. I also love food, which makes it easy to bond with me and helps me learn new things quickly. One of my cutest features is my long legs that give me a funny little "model walk" wherever I go! I'm super small and absolutely adorable! My tiny size, gentle personality, and loving nature make me easy to fall in love with. I'm ready to fill my forever home with happiness, cuddles, and unconditional love.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a little shy when meeting new people, but it doesn't take me long to come out of my shell, especially if you have treats! I'm very food motivated, which makes it easy to build a bond with me. Once I feel comfortable, I happily accept pets and affection, love rolling over for belly rubs, and allow myself to be picked up. With a little patience in the beginning, you'll quickly discover my sweet, loving, and affectionate personality. · With Dogs: Having grown up with my dog siblings, I naturally feel most comfortable around other dogs and often look to them for confidence and reassurance. I would love a home with a friendly resident dog and would make a wonderful little addition to the family. I get along well with dogs of a similar size as well as larger dogs. When meeting new dog friends, I appreciate calm, thoughtful introductions and a little time to settle in. Once I feel comfortable, my sweet and gentle personality shines, and I enjoy having canine companions by my side. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown. A cat test can be arranged upon request to ensure the best fit.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring, and having fun, but once I’ve had my activity and excitement, I’m more than happy to come inside and relax comfortably indoors.   TRAINING & HABITS I can pull on the leash at times, but overall I walk nicely and follow my handler's lead. I don't guard my food from people or other dogs and have good manners around mealtimes. I may bark when I want attention, but I'm generally a quiet little pup who knows how to rest calmly in my kennel. Car rides can be a little scary for me, and I feel much more comfortable when I'm able to snuggle in your arms for reassurance. For potty habits, I can use both pee pads indoors and go potty outdoors, giving my future family a great foundation to build on.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I'm a tiny boy with long legs, an adorable face, and a huge heart full of love. Compared to Hiro, I'm a little more outgoing and curious, and my love of treats makes it easy to win me over and teach me new things. Having grown up with my dog siblings my whole life, I would especially enjoy a home with another friendly dog who can continue giving me confidence and companionship. Once I settle in, my playful and affectionate personality really shines, and I love being close to my people.
