My story

Maggie is a resilient, gentle soul who is looking for the family she's always deserved. A year ago, Maggie arrived in Canada after spending nearly nine months in a rural Kentucky kennel. Before that, she had wandered onto someone's property with two of her puppies, and although the homeowners wanted to help, they weren't able to care for her long-term. Through no fault of her own, Maggie has experienced far more uncertainty than any dog should. Since then, Maggie has blossomed. She's healed from the wounds left by kennel life, reached a healthy weight, completed treatment for Lyme disease, and, most importantly, discovered what it feels like to be loved and safe. Maggie is still learning that the world can be a kind place. She has some fear and anxiety that will need continued patience, understanding, and gentle guidance. In return, she'll reward her person with quiet companionship, loyal devotion, and the sweetest moments-like leaning into an ear scratch, rolling over for a belly rub, or taking her time to sniff every tree, bush, and patch of grass on a leisurely walk. Her perfect day includes sunbathing in a secure fenced yard, stretching her legs with a few joyful zoomies, and then relaxing beside the people she trusts. Maggie isn't looking for perfection-she's looking for someone willing to meet her where she is. With patience, consistency, and love, she'll continue to blossom into the wonderful companion she's already becoming. If you believe that the best relationships are built on trust, Maggie just might be waiting for you.
