My story

QUICK FACTS Name: Gimjaban Age: 5-6 months old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Jindo mix Color: White Weight: 7kg / 15.4lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was found roaming the streets with my mama. Before we were rescued, my mama went through a terrible incident and no one really knows what happened to her. One of her front legs had been severed, but despite the pain and difficulty she faced every day, she never stopped caring for us. She did everything she could to keep us fed, safe, and loved. Thankfully, kind-hearted people eventually came to our rescue, and those hard days are now behind us. I'm now ready to leave my past behind and start my next chapter with a loving family of my own.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY When my siblings and I were first rescued, we were terrified of people and would hide in the corner whenever someone approached us. Considering everything we had been through while trying to survive alongside our badly injured mama, that was understandable. Thankfully, we have been adapting quickly, and I have been learning that people can be kind and gentle. I'm now growing more comfortable with human touch and have really started warming up to the people around me! I also have adorable folded ears that make me extra cute if I do say so myself. I have a big appetite and love treats, which makes me eager to learn and engage with people. While I can be shy at first, there is so much potential in me and I just need a little time and patience to come out of my shell. The volunteers and staff often comment on how much progress I've made and how far I've come since my rescue.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I'm a little shy when meeting new people, but I happily accept treats and pets almost right away! Treats are definitely one of my favorite things, and I'll gladly follow you around in hopes of earning a few snacks. I also allow myself to be picked up without any fuss and, out of all my siblings, I was actually the first to open up to people. Once I feel comfortable, I love showing my soft side and will even roll over to show you my belly! I'm still a young pup with so much potential ahead of me, and I'm quickly learning that people can be kind, gentle, and safe. With a little patience and love, I'm sure I'll continue to blossom into an amazing companion. · With Dogs: While I can be a little shy around people at first, I'm incredibly friendly with my dog friends! I love meeting new dogs, saying hello, and inviting them to play. I get along especially well with dogs my size or smaller and would likely enjoy having a canine companion to show me the ropes. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown. A cat test can be arranged upon request to ensure the best fit. During walks, I tend to ignore cats and focus on my handler.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate to higher energy level. I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring, and having fun, but once I’ve had my activity and excitement, I’m more than happy to come inside and relax comfortably indoors.   TRAINING & HABITS I'm still learning my leash manners, but I'm making great progress day by day! As a young and curious pup, I love taking in all the sights, sounds, and smells of the world around me and enjoy following my handler's lead while exploring new places. I can pull on the leash from time to time when something exciting catches my attention, but I'm generally attentive, eager to engage, and happy to check in with my person along the way. I have lovely manners around food and don't guard my meals or treats from either people or other dogs. While I may occasionally let out a bark if I'd like a little attention, I'm overall a quiet, gentle, and easygoing. I'm also doing well with my potty habits and currently use both pee pads indoors and go potty outside. After a day of adventures and learning, I know how to settle down and rest calmly in my kennel like a good boy.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: • A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment • A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout • A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together • A family that will love and cherish me forever • Understanding I’m a young pup and will need continued socialization and obedience training so I learn to become more confident   SPECIAL NOTES As I continue building my confidence, I would thrive with a patient and understanding family who can help me navigate the world at my own pace. Treats are a wonderful way to win me over, and with a little time and encouragement, my sweet and curious personality really begins to shine. Since I'm still a young pup, I have so much potential ahead of me and look forward to continuing my training and growing alongside my future family. I would also likely enjoy having a friendly dog companion to play with and learn from. The volunteers and staff often compliment my beautiful eyes and gentle expression. One of my favorite activities is people watching because I love quietly observing my surroundings and taking in everything happening around me.
