My story

If dogs could choose a dream job, Cooper would happily be a professional best friend.This big, lovable boy has a heart that`s every bit as enormous as he is. While he may be a little reserved when meeting new people or exploring unfamiliar places, give him a little time and you`ll quickly discover the goofy sweetheart waiting to come out of his shell. Once Cooper decides you`re part of his inner circle, you`re there for life. He`s a true people dog through and through. In fact he`s the kind of companion who simply wants to be close to his favourite humans, whether you`re out for a stroll, relaxing at home, or sneaking him a well-earned treat (his other great love in life). Speaking of favourites... tennis balls are Cooper`s greatest treasure. Bring one out, and you`re guaranteed to see a wiggle. Add a few tasty treats to the mix, and you`ve officially become his favourite person!Cooper is looking for a family who will give him the time he needs to settle in and let his confidence grow. Once he feels safe, he`ll reward you with unwavering loyalty, endless affection, and the kind of friendship only a dog with a heart this big can offer.If your home has room for a gentle giant who believes life is best spent with people and treats, Cooper can`t wait to meet you!**This dog’s adoption fee has been reduced to help them find their forever home! Applicants will still need to complete our regular adoption process and meet all of this pet’s requirements to be approved**IN-SHELTER NOTES & IDEAL HOMESIZE:81 lbs.HOME TYPE:No large or busy apartments CHILDREN:Yes - Would potentially do will with older children that have large dog experience.CATS & SMALL ANIMALS:Yes- Cats potentially compatible with slow proper introduction.OTHER DOGS:No- Cooper is looking to be the only dog in the home, where he can soak up all the love, attention, and tennis balls for himself.ACTIVITY/ENERGY LEVEL:High; will need a lot of daily exercise, enrichment and mental stimulation.HUMAN COMPATIBILTY:First time dog owner possible, provided his new family is committed to helping him build confidence in new situations and is willing to manage his resource guarding behaviours. TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/NEEDS:At least one in-person training session to work on socialization, basic training, manners, leash manners and resource guarding. HUMAN SOCIAL IN SHELTER:Cooper is friendly and energetic once he is comfortable.
