River

My story

River is a three-year-old Great Pyrenees who is just beginning her fresh start with Big Hearts for Big Breeds. This beautiful girl is settling into foster care, where she's being given the time, patience, and support she needs to discover that life can be safe, predictable, and full of love. River has shown herself to be good with most other dogs and, while she's initially shy around new people, she warms up quickly once she knows she's among friends. As her confidence grows, we're excited to watch more of her sweet personality shine through. Because River's past is largely unknown, she's still learning many of the basics of home life. She is not yet potty trained, leash trained, or kennel trained, but every day brings new opportunities to learn. With consistency, positive reinforcement, and a patient family, we're confident she'll continue making wonderful progress. Right now, the Big Hearts for Big Breeds team is making sure River receives a full veterinary evaluation and all the care she needs to be healthy, comfortable, and ready for the bright future she deserves. As she settles into foster care and begins to thrive, we'll continue learning more about her personality and what type of forever home will be the perfect fit.
