My story

Rocky Mountains, affectionately known as Rocky, is an approximately two-year-old Great Pyrenees who is beginning a brand-new chapter with Big Hearts for Big Breeds after being found as a stray. While we may never know what his life looked like before rescue, we're making sure his future is filled with the love, safety, and stability every dog deserves. Rocky is already showing what a wonderful companion he can be. He walks nicely on a leash and has done well with other dogs his size, taking everything in stride as he settles into foster care. His compatibility with children and cats is still unknown, as we're taking the time to learn more about him at a pace that's comfortable for him. Since Rocky's history is a mystery, he's currently working on potty training and learning household manners. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, he's making progress every day and will continue to gain confidence as he adjusts to life in a loving home. Like many Great Pyrenees, Rocky has a calm, thoughtful presence and is taking in the world one step at a time. We're excited to watch his personality continue to blossom as he realizes he's finally safe.
