My story

QUICK FACTS Name: Roma Age: 7 months old Gender: (Male) Neutered Breed: Terrier Mix Color: Brown, Black, White Weight: 10kg / 22lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was rescued from a city pound after being placed on the euthanasia list due to a lack of space. Thankfully, kind rescuers stepped in just in time and gave me the second chance I deserved. Those difficult days are now behind me, and I'm ready to find the loving forever family I've been waiting for. My mom and sibling were rescued alongside me, and while my sibling has already found their forever home, my mom and I are still waiting for our happy ending. I hope that one day soon, it will be my turn to find a family to call my very own.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY I'm a sweet and cheerful boy who is curious about the world and hasn't let my difficult past define me! I'm incredibly friendly with people and love following them around in hopes of earning treats, affection, and attention. I also get along well with my dog friends and enjoy their company. One of the loveliest things about me is seeing me run up to people with my tail wagging happily. I also happen to be a big fan of naps, but hey, I'm still a puppy after all! The volunteers and staff are confident that my bubbly and adaptable personality will help me settle in well and thrive in just about any loving home.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I'm super friendly with people and love receiving affection and pets from everyone I meet! I happily allow myself to be picked up and am so trusting that I'll often roll over and show my belly to strangers right away. If you're looking for a loving and affectionate companion, I'm always ready to make a new friend! · With Dogs: I'm friendly with my dog friends too and enjoy greeting new dogs and making new friends! I generally get along best with dogs of a similar size or smaller. I prefer to keep the peace and have a gentle nature, so even when another dog is being rude or pushy, I'd much rather walk away and avoid conflict than engage in any drama. · With Cats: My full reaction to cats is currently unknown. During walks, I don't pay much attention to cats and prefer to stay focused on my handler instead. A cat test can be arranged upon request to help ensure the best match for my future home.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate to higher energy level. I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring, and having fun, but once I’ve had my activity and excitement, I’m more than happy to come inside and relax comfortably indoors.   TRAINING & HABITS I walk well on leash and do a great job following my handler's lead! One of my favorite parts of going for walks is exploring the world through all the exciting smells around me, so I do enjoy stopping for plenty of sniff breaks along the way. I have wonderful manners around food and don't guard my meals from either people or other dogs. I'm also a very quiet pup and rarely bark. I'm still getting used to car rides and feel most comfortable when I can snuggle safely in your arms for reassurance. For potty habits, I currently use both pee pads indoors and go potty outside as well.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: • A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment • A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout • A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together • A family that will love and cherish me forever • Understanding I’m a young pup and will need continued socialization and basic obedience training   SPECIAL NOTES I'm a cheerful and resilient boy who approaches life with curiosity and optimism. I love exploring the world through my nose and taking in all the interesting sights and smells around me. The volunteers and staff adore my sweet personality, gentle nature, and happy spirit. While I'm still learning about some things, like car rides, I'm eager to keep growing and experiencing new adventures with my future family by my side.
