My story

Courtesy post: Sometimes the hardest goodbyes aren't just for people. When Indi lost her canine best friend, she lost a piece of her heart. At the veterinary office, she arrived as her usual happy, social self, eager to greet everyone she met. But the moment her companion passed away, something changed. She became quiet. Calm. She seemed to understand exactly what had happened. It was one of those moments that reminds you just how deeply dogs love and how profoundly they grieve. Now, Indi is looking for a new beginning. This beautiful Pit Bull/Husky mix (breed mix believed) has the most striking mismatched eyes you'll ever see, but it's her heart that will truly capture you. She's playful, incredibly intelligent, and fiercely loyal to the people she loves. Fetch is her absolute favorite game, and she'll happily chase a ball until she's convinced you've had enough. But once playtime is over, she's just as content relaxing beside you, soaking up your company. She even 'talks' to her people, offers her paw for treats, and always wants to be included in whatever you're doing. She's the kind of dog who isn't just part of the family—she becomes your best friend. Indi adores people. Adults, children, and strangers quickly become friends, and she loves riding in the car, making her an excellent companion for adventures or everyday errands. She weighs 75 pounds, is fully house trained, crate trained, and does well staying home during a normal workday. Like many enthusiastic dogs, she's still polishing a few manners—she gets excited enough to jump up to say hello and could use some continued work on leash walking—but she's eager to learn and responds well to positive reinforcement. Indi would love a fenced yard where she can stretch her legs and chase her favorite ball. She must be in a home without cats. While she has lived successfully with other dogs in the past, careful introductions are always recommended. She is not currently spayed. She was reported to be up to date on vaccinations when she came into care, though veterinary records are unavailable, so her new family should plan to establish care with their veterinarian for an exam and any needed vaccines. Most of all, Indi deserves to smile again. She deserves a family who will help mend her broken heart, celebrate her goofy personality, and remind her that even after loss, life can still be full of joy, adventures, and unconditional love. Could you be the fresh start she's been waiting for? Name: Indi Breed: Pit Bull/Husky mix (believed) Location: Wilmington, Delaware Interested in meeting Indi?
