My story

Meet Mindy! Mindy has been through more than her fair share, but thanks to the kindness of a few incredible people, she's ready to leave her past behind and start the happy chapter she's always deserved. After being left to fend for herself, Mindy slowly learned to trust again with the help of a compassionate young girl who kept her safe until she was rescued. She also bravely completed heartworm treatment, earning praise from her veterinarian as a superstar patient, and is now healthy and ready to find her forever family. Because of her past, Mindy likes to take her time getting to know new people. Once you've earned her trust, however, you'll have a loyal, affectionate best friend who loves being with her people and is always eager to please. She's naturally protective and will happily let you know when someone is at the door, then settles down once she's done her "security check." Mindy gets along well with both dogs and cats. She prefers slow introductions, but once she knows everyone is friendly, she's happy to play and be part of the group. One of Mindy's favourite activities is going for car rides-she'll happily hop into her crate and quietly enjoy the adventure. She also loves walks, whether on or off leash, and has great recall... unless a gopher catches her eye! And if there's a lake, creek, or even a puddle along the way, you can count on Mindy to splash right in. She's fully house-trained and uses a doggy door for potty breaks. When her foster family is away, she's content relaxing in her kennel (especially if there's a treat involved!), and when they're home, she enjoys having the freedom to curl up wherever she feels most comfortable. Mindy is looking for a patient, loving family who will give her the time she needs to build trust. In return, she'll reward you with unwavering loyalty, endless affection, and a lifetime of companionship.
