My story

There are some dogs whose stories stay with you forever, and Thomas is one of them. Estimated to be 10–12 years old, Thomas came to Sky Sanctuary Rescue through the Humane Society after being rescued from a cruelty case. When he arrived, he was heartbreakingly emaciated and in desperate need of care. As he began his journey to recovery, we learned he also needed numerous teeth extracted. The healing process was long and difficult, especially for such a gentle, sensitive soul. But despite everything he's endured, Thomas has shown incredible resilience. Today, he's healed, feeling so much better, and slowly learning what it means to be safe and loved. Thomas is one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. He's incredibly gentle, affectionate, and happiest when he's close to his people. Because of his past, he does experience some anxiety, and being alone at the sanctuary has been hard for him. More than anything, Thomas longs for a quiet home where he can spend his days curled up beside someone who loves him. After everything he's been through, Thomas doesn't belong in rescue. He belongs on a cozy bed, taking leisurely naps, enjoying gentle walks, and spending his golden years exactly as every senior dog deserves, loved, cherished, and knowing he will never be hungry or afraid again.
