Benji

My story

Currently fostered in Texas Meet Benji! A 3 year old merle Frenchie. Benji had some medical hurdles to get through but is now doing amazing, on his way to a healthy and full recovery. Benji had terrible bronchitis and upper respiratory infection, but after some strong antibiotics and steroids, he has made a full recovery. Benji also is being treated for ring worm which is now healing with mild scaring and hopefully his hair comes back in those spots. Benji came to us very emaciated and dehydrated. He was just over 15 pounds and within just a couple weeks has gained 6.5 pounds and is currently 22 pounds and a healthy weight, his coat looks so much better and he is a GOOD eater! He loves the food. He walks great on leash and harness, he loves to destuff the stuffies. Benji is obsessed with toys, kongs, chews, rawhide free bones, tug of war, balls and all things squeeky. He LOVES people, all people and kids. He wants to chase down the cats but once face to face with the cats he does not even do anything . Benji has a larger than life personality. He is a bit of a tornado but he is a handsome tornado. He does not mark but is still working on potty training. He has a good bit of energy but also sleeps like a rock. He is very loving and social . Benji would probably be best as an only dog. He will not just attack a dog and is good on walks with other dogs and he is ok with other dogs in certain settings but he is possessive over his food and toys with other dogs and has a bit of a dog dominant personality. He is very submissive to humans and a 6 yr old child could take food right out of his mouth. It is only dogs, that he tries to be a bit dominant and will try to hump the , which is a tad embarrassing and we are hoping this behavior subsides after his neuter this week. He is a great boy and can easily walk in parks , go to lunch and outdoor settings with other dogs as long as he is on leash. He is not dog reactive. He is very comical. You must have a good sense of humor and be ready for some adventures to invite this kid into your world 🙂 Approved adopters please send your hold requests to the email you were given.
